Bacon in the Oven

I don’t know if you’re anything like me but I detest making bacon! I hate everything about it… the dirty pan, the way the smell completely permeates through the whole house, how you have to constantly flip it, and worst of all, I get popped in the neck by the grease every single time! Last year my husband’s Aunt came to visit us and she let me in on a fabulous way to cook bacon, all at once, with little mess, and completely safe!! How is this possible you ask?! Well friends, the secret is cooking it in the oven! Not only does it save you a ton of hassle, it is so delicious and the bacon comes out perfect every time! I never make bacon on the stove anymore, it’s that perfect!

* 1 package of bacon



Line a baking sheet with foil, and place raw bacon strips onto the foil, you can crowd them together as much as you need to because they’ll start to shrink up as they cook. Now this is the secret, place the sheet of bacon into a COLD oven. Don’t preheat it before hand, place it right in there and then turn your oven to 400F. and simply continue on making your meal! Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, the time will vary depending on how crispy you like it. We like ours pretty crispy so we let it go for closer to the 20 minute mark.


Once it’s done take it out of the oven, it should be perfectly cooked through, no flipping required.


Drain the excess grease on paper towels and ta-da! Your bacon is all ready! Cleanup is a breeze too, simply throw away the foil and wash your baking sheet, or don’t, since it will still be pretty clean!
