Sour cream chocolate bundt cake with a chocolate ganache

Cake Ingredients:
* 1 cup baking cocoa
* 1 cup boiling water
* 1 cup butter, softened
* 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
* 4 eggs
* 2 tsp. vanilla extract
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 2 tsp. baking soda
* 1/2 tsp. baking powder
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1 cup sour cream

Ganache Ingredients:
* 6 ounces semisweet chocolate
* 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened
* 1/2 cup heavy cream

Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F. Dissolve cocoa in boiling water, let stand until cool. In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Next, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla to the bowl. Combine the dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Alternating with the sour cream, add both into the bowl, beating well. Next, add the cocoa mixture, also beat well.
Pour into a greased bundt pan. Bake for 30-40 minutes. Check the cake for doneness after 30 minutes and adjust the cooking time depending on how done the cake is. I used a long kabob wooden skewer to test mine and it worked perfectly. Cool for 10 minutes, and then turn the cake out onto a wire rack to cool the rest of the way.

Ganache Directions:
In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate and butter. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan on the stove. Bring the cream to a boil and immediately add it to the bowl with the butter and chocolate. Whisk until the the ingredients meld together.
Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, allowing the ganache to drip down the sides. Place chocolate chips on the top while the ganache is still warm. Let the cake stand until the ganache is hardened and set, at least 15 minutes.
