This was a good weeknight meal that we all enjoyed 🙂
– 1 Tbsp. butter
– 1 Tbsp. olive oil
– 1 pound smoked sausage sliced 1/4-inch thick
– 1 small onion, diced
– 2 cups broccoli florets
– 1 1/2 cups cooked rice
– 1 tsp. garlic salt
– 1 tsp. onion powder
– 1/4 tsp. pepper
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and olive oil to the pan and heat for a couple of minutes. Add in the sliced smoked sausage slices and onions to the pan. Cook until the onions are translucent and sausage begins to brown.
Add the broccoli florets to the pan and cover with a lid. Reduce heat, and let cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
Add the cooked rice, garlic salt, and onion powder. Stir to combine, cover the pan and heat for a few minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it’s melted.
